With its music washing in my ear
Up the river and around the bend
You remember an old friend
The water boatman bobs along
Washed in the cold river's song
I wonder what that sounds like

Always when I get home
Night fallen and the curtains are drawn
The day and all that it's shown
To me all alone
Will remain

See the photographer who frames
A scene that will never be the same
Just a click in auld lang syne
Like a word without a rhyme
The sentimental organ plays
believers see God in its rays
While others just see sunlight

I hope these things we explore
The sounds we make and the pictures we draw
